The TaylorMade Stealth 2 driver is praised for its strong performance, especially in distance and ball speed, and significant improvements in sound and feel compared to its predecessor. It offers a high degree of forgiveness, particularly with the standard and HD models, which feature increased MOI due to the new carbon fiber sole. While it's generally seen as a very good driver, some players, particularly lower-handicappers, may find the standard model's draw bias or lack of workability a drawback.

Performance and feel

  • Distance and ball speed:

The Stealth 2 consistently produces high ball speeds and offers excellent distance potential.

  • Sound and feel:

The carbon face has a satisfying, crisp "snap" sound, and the feel is solid and stable across the face, which is a significant improvement over the original Stealth.

  • Forgiveness:

Forgiveness is a strong point, especially with the standard and HD models, thanks to a new carbon fiber sole that increases MOI.

  • Flight:

The flight is generally neutral on the standard model, but some reviewers note a slight draw bias. The standard model offers good ball speeds on off-center hits, though forgiveness can be lower than other models when hit away from the center.

  • Spin:

Spin rates can be low on the standard model, particularly for players with a natural right-to-left spin bias, which can lead to more roll-out.

    Design and features

    • Models:

The line includes the Stealth 2 Plus (adjustable weight), the standard Stealth 2, and the Stealth 2 HD (draw-biased).

    • Adjustability:

The Stealth 2 Plus has a 15g sliding weight at the back, while the standard and HD models have a fixed weight to create a more draw-biased flight.

    • Aesthetics:

The red carbon fiber face is visually appealing and can help with alignment. Some found the carbon crown a bit too shiny.

      Who is it for?

      • The driver is recommended for golfers of all skill levels who are looking for distance, with a fitting being a good idea to ensure accuracy and forgiveness are optimized.
      • Lower-handicap players might find the standard model's draw bias or lack of workability a deterrent.
      • The Stealth 2 HD is the most forgiving option in the lineup, and it's still forgiving for a draw-bias driver.
